Slab Heat Cable is suitable for new constructions and renovations as an in-slab heating system, and most popular for polished concrete floor heating. In addition to heating polished concrete floors, Slab Heat Cable is also suitable for in slab underfloor heating beneath most floor coverings including tile, carpet and timber floors.
The in-slab underfloor heating system can be used as a background heat source to complement other room heating systems, or as a stand alone in-slab storage floor heating system. Where connected to off-peak power heating rates, the slab act as a heat storage bank warming up during off-peak times (generally at night time) and releasing comfort heat during the day.
Installation of Slab Heat Cable involves installation of the heating cable to the structural steel mesh prior to the concrete pour.
Slab Heat Cable is manufactured using only the finest materials. The tough IEC compliant heating cable features a heating conductor with Fluropolymer insulation (known as Teflon) covered with a metal earth screen and Low Smoke Zero Halogen outer insulation.

Installation of Slab Heat Cable involves installation of the heating cable to the structural steel mesh prior to the concrete pour.
- A minimum 25mm concrete cover is required over the heating cable.
- To achieve a heat output of 150W/m2, Slab Heat Cable must be fixed to the steel mesh at 200mm centres.
- Heating cable fixing to steel mesh should be 400mm apart using plastic cable ties or steel clips.
- Slab edge insulation is recommended to reduce loss of heat from the heated slab.
