Mandalong Rd House, Mosman

This project involved the refurbishment and major alterations and additions to a heritage listed federation house on the Balmoral slopes. The site also has a rear st frontage off which a new double garage, gym and attic studio was built.

The original main house underwent complete refurbishment. At the rear of the original house a major new pavilion was added. The feature of the pavilion are the high raked timber line ceilings with a large skylight running along the entire length of the room.

A new pavilion, with a raked timber ceiling, which houses a new modern kitchen, laundry, eating and family room, opens onto a large terrace which over look extensive new gardens and address the new garage studio building. A central courtyard separates the original house and new pavilion allowing winter sun to penetrate into the main living spaces.

Amuheat’s contribution to Mandalong Road House includes a gas hydronic in slab floor heating system installed into the slab floor of the new pavilion as well as electric in screed floor heating to the new and renovated ensuites/bathrooms.
