Electric underfloor heating

Thin Cable Mat has been primarily designed for the home renovation market. The electric underfloor heating system adds no more than 2-3mm to the floor height (in tile-adhesive), making it the perfect system where floor levels cannot be raised.

The thin electric underfloor heating system can be installed on top of existing hard floor surfaces, F/C sheet boards, waterproofing or concrete slabs. The flexibility makes the cable mat suitable for use throughout the home, in new build or renovation projects, especially in kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms.

The Thin Cable Mat heating element is double insulated, with a full earth screen to reduce EMR. The primary insulation of the inner heating conductor is Teflon, which is resilient to heat and does not deteriorate over time. The electric underfloor heating system connected to an RCD circuit is guaranteed safe – even it wet areas.

Installed heat outputs vary from room to room within the home. Typically a higher output per m2 is applied in bathrooms as compared to other rooms. Electric underfloor heating systems installed directly beneath the floor surface respond within 15-30 minutes, offering a greatly reduced warm up time as compared with in-slab/screed systems.

Higher output heating cables used in bathrooms, helps an otherwise cold surfaced room keep warm. Design parameters for bathrooms is typically 200W/m2, which factors in common heat losses such as extractor fans drawing out steam and heat, or open doors and windows for ventilation. Despite the higher output, a 2m2 heated bathroom floor connected to the Amuheat thermostat, costs on average $0.04c* to operate per hour.

Design parameters for other rooms throughout the home ranges between 60-100W/m2. Various factors are taken into consideration when calculating the room’s heat losses – such as site location, orientation of home, insulation and build materials. Rooms whose heat design is 80W/m2 (the average) will cost $0.008*, yes, 0.8c* for every 1m2 of floor space to operate per hour. A 200m2 home will cost on average $1.60* per running hour.

Free floor heating system design, direct sales and technical support make up Amuheat’ service offering. Choosing an electric underfloor heating system has never been simpler.
