Amuheat Speedfit Hydronic Underfloor Heating

Overview

Hydronic Underfloor Heating

Modern hydronic underfloor heating systems using gas, solar or geothermal heat pumps, integrate high tech plastic pipe either within or just below the floor finish. The Amuheat Speedfit underfloor heating system is suitable for almost any floor finish including ceramic tiles, carpet, vinyl and laminate. Economical to run, virtually maintenance free and utilising effective smart controls, Amuheat Speedfit provides comfortable all round warmth.

Installation

In Screed
Installation of Speedfit is relatively uncomplicated. Start by laying floor insulation panels. Fit the manifold, then start laying the PEX pipe from the manifold in the pre-designed configuration. The PEX pipe is secured to the insulation by stapling the pipe to the insulation using the staple gun. Once the first loop has been laid, lay the pipe back to the manifold. The screed should be laid as soon as possible after laying the pipe circuits and completion of a pressure test.

In Slab
In concrete floors, it is usual to set out the heating pipe or cable on top of insulation or clipped to the reinforcing steel before the cement screed covers the pipe.

Components

Pipe
Speedfit PEX Pipe has an inner barrier to prevent the ingress of atmosphere. It is lightweight and flexible. For screed systems, the pipe is attached directly to insulation with staples. For slab systems, the pipe is clipped to the re-enforcing steel.

Pipe Staples
Used to secure pipe to the insulation layer in a screeded floor. The Staples are barbed to ensure secure fixing to the insulation.

Manifold
Available in 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 ports, the Speedfit Manifolds are manufactured from high quality DZR Brass. A unique feature is that connections to the heating pipes are Speedfit Push Fit, offering much reduced installation time. Flow and return rails are offset and the angles can be altered, all making for an easy installation. The pre assembled manifold on wall brackets are complete with adjustable flow gauge, drain valve and air bleed valve

Pump Pack
Manufactured in DZR brass, the Pump Pack consists of a pump, mixing valve and overheat temperature thermostat. Hot water is taken from the boiler, mixed to the required temperature and circulated via the manifold to the heating circuits, the temperature and volume of water is constantly altered to maintain the requirements of the system. Flow temperature can be altered by turning the hand wheel on the mixing valve unit. The Pack is light and compact so a wall bracket is not needed and flat face unions make for an easy connection to the manifold.

Wiring Centre
The Master Wiring Centre is used to connect the wiring from thermostats, actuators, boiler and pump and manages the control of the underfloor heating system. Wiring Centre Slave' connect a Master Wiring Centre to give an additional 4 or 6 zones.

Actuator Valves
Actuators are attached to the individual heating circuits on the manifold, providing individual control to a room or zone. They open or close the flow of water and are controlled by a thermostat or programmer.

Room Thermostats
Room thermostats are used to control the temperature in an individual room or in 'zones' of 2 or more rooms. They are wired back to the control centre so that circuits can be opened or closed.

Programmable Thermostat
The programmable Room Thermostat is a fully programmable electronic room thermostat which can be set to give each zone an individual time and temperature control.
