RDZ Overview


RDZ Hydronic Heating & Cooling

Radiant heating and cooling is widely used as underfloor system. It is applied predominantly in houses for winter heating because of its excellent features, yet nowadays it is more and more used also for summer cooling.

Over the last few years, besides the underfloor heating systems, RDZ has developed other kinds of solutions exploiting the radiation as heat exchange mode in rooms: that is the wall and ceiling system. This kind of installation is spreading rapidly thanks to its remarkable features which make it possible to apply this radiant solution in those modern buildings where underfloor systems cannot be used. In particular, the ceiling surface is almost completely available; furthermore it guarantees very low thermal inertia and excellent performance in summer running. RDZ low-temperature underfloor systems circulate water through a network of pipes concealed below the floor. RDZ uses PE-X piping. The purpose of this piping is to improve the product’s mechanical properties and make it more resistant to thermal ageing.

Heat diffusion into the room is primarily a result of radiation and makes it possible to obtain uniform temperature distribution. This special feature not only ensures a sensation of physical wellbeing, but also allows the system to function at low temperatures, thus implying lower energy consumption than traditional systems. Underfloor heating systems can be also covered in any type of flooring: ceramic, parquet, marble, hard brick, etc. Since it is an invisible installation, the system also guarantees full use of the available space with a wide range of furnishing options.


RDZ Underfloor Heating


The Amuheat RDZ underfloor heating systems distributes room temperatures evenly and ensures the ideal condition for human comfort. Since the floor is the heated surface, cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards are also easy to perform. Furthermore, the absence of convective air flows generally created by the difference in temperature between the heating body
and the surroundings limits any potential movement of dust or impurities in the air (which usually cause allergies). This not only improves the sanitary conditions of the premises, but also eliminates any problems regarding the blackening of walls and curtains.

Amuheat RDZ underfloor heating systems are available in a wide range of solutions and can be applied to very different settings: new or renovated buildings, houses, shops, offices, factories, etc.


PE-Xc Pipe for Underfloor Heating
The RDZ PE-Xc pipe is made of high-density electro-physically crosslinked polyethylene with anti-oxygen barrier according to UNI EN ISO 15875 and DIN 4726, which guarantees even and stable cross-links and constant characteristics over time.

PE-Xa Pipe for Underfloor Heating
The RDZ Clima PE-Xa pipe is made of high-quality polyethylene with crosslinking produced through “a” typology method, provided with anti-oxygen barrier according to UNI EN ISO 16892 and DIN 4726, which guarantees even and stable cross-links and constant characteristics over time.

Top Composit Manifold
Top Composit manifold Ø 1” is made of thermoplastic and used to distribute the pipes in rooms. It is provided with fl ow meters in each circuit, digital fl ow and return thermometers with a liquid-crystal display, on-off valves (suitable for electrothermal heads), micrometric lockshield valves with data labels to locate rooms, end fi ttings with ball air vent valves and ball drain valves with hose nozzles and plugs, brackets which can be installed into cabinets or fi xed on the wall, and push-fi t fi ttings for 14 & 17mm polyethylene pipes.

Control Manifold
CONTROL manifolds Ø 1 ¼” are made of brass, and they are used to distribute the pipes in rooms. They are provided with on-off valves (suitable for electrothermic heads), micrometric lockshields with data labels to locate rooms, ball air vent valves and ball drain valves with hose nozzles and plugs, brackets with vibration-damping rubber tops, which can be installed into cabinets or fixed on the wall, and fittings for 14mm, 17mm & 20mm polyethylene pipes.

Industry Manifold
The Industry manifold ia made of stainless steel Ø 2”, used to distribute pipes of 25mm in warehouses. It includes shut-off ball valves and registers, an air and load cock, flow and return thermometers (0-60 °C), and fittings for 25mm pipes.

RDZ Insulation Panels


RDZ insulation panels ensure minimal downward heat loss and maximum energy efficiency.

RDZ-Cover-Insulation-PanelCover System
The COVER system can be applied to a range of applications such as houses, offices, shops, etc. and is suitale for both floor heating and cooling.

The Cover panel systems is made of a waterproof moulded expanded polystyrene, with closed-cell structure, which has high mechanical resistance. This panel is combined with a special plastic film to protect it from humidity and to improve its resistance to the deformation of the walking on surface. Thermal conductivity is 0.035 W/(m·K), with insulating thicknesses of 20/30/40/50/61.5 mm, and total thicknesses of 48/58/68/78/89.5 mm, and a thermal resistance according to UNI EN 13163 of 0.80/1.10/1.35/1.65/2.0 (m²·K)/W. These panels have a tongue along the perimeter to connect panels together. The moulded surface with reliefs of 27 mm accomodates the 17mm cross-linked polyethylene pipe  into the tabs of the panel at spacing of 8.3 cm or multiples.

RDZ-New-Plus-Insulation-PanelNew Plus System
NEW PLUS system is only 10mm thick and is suitable for renovated residential buildings in rooms where it is necessary to reduce the overall thickness of the radiant system. This is often the case where ceiling heights may be an issue (2.4m Australian Standard). It can be used for both floor heating and cooling.

The New Plus panel with reliefs os made of waterproof moulded expanded polystyrene, with a closed-cell structure, which has high echanical resistance. It is combined with a special plastic film, thickness 0.15 mm, in order to protect it from humidity and to improve its resistance to the deformation of the walking surface. Thermal conductivity is 0.033 W/(m·K), with a total thickness 17.8 mm offering thermal resistance according to UNI EN 13163 of 0.50 (m²·K)/W. These panels have a tongue along the perimeter to connect them together. The moulded surface with reliefs of 23 mm accomodates the 17mm cross-linked polyethylene pipes at spacings of 8.3 cm or multiples.

Heat Sources


There are several options for heat sources, which include a gas boiler, condensing gas boiler, heat pump and solar w/boost options.

Daikin Altherma Heat Pump (11/14/16kW)
Daikin-AlthermaDaikin has introduced Altherma Monobloc in which all hydronic parts are located within one outdoor unit. In this system the water pipes, rather than refrigerant lines, run indoors from the outdoor unit. This system is available in heating only or reverse cycle (heating & cooling) options.

Daikin Altherma Monobloc extracts heat from the outside air and raises its temperature to a level high enough to supply heating. Daikin Altherma uses inverter technology which means energy savings in comparison to other heat pump systems. Inverter technology gently increases or decreases power to suit prevailing conditions, meaning it reaches the desired temperature quicker and maintains it without wild fluctuations. This means uninterrupted comfort and significant savings on running costs.
