Overview

Thin Cable Mat floor heating is installed above the slab or screed (or even existing tiles) directly under the new tile floor, safely & discretely in the tile glue. The thin floor heating systems high performance-low energy design offers an output of 60-80W/m² for living & bedrooms and 80-100W/m² for bathrooms.

Manufactured using only the finest materials, the AS/NZS compliant single conductor heating cable with 3m long cold tail leads features a single conductor with a primary Fluoropolymer (Teflon) insulation layer around the heating conductor, a full earth braid and secondary PVC sheath, making it Australia’s toughest double insulated under tile heating cable.

The heating cable is uniformly fixed to the underside of a fibreglass mat supplied with strips of adhesive tape for direct stick to the prepared floor. The thin floor heating systems construction and installation methodology does not require any special tools and is quickly stuck to a clean subfloor using the attached adhesive tape strips.

The ease of installation also makes them an ideal ‘Do-it-Yourself” or Trade kit without requirements or experience for planning their layouts.

Technical

Application: Direct & background heating for installation over concrete or F/C sheet floors. The mat is embedded in the tiles adhesive or a thinset beneath most hard floor finishes including tile, floating and timber floors.
Thin Cable Mat Construction: Comprises of a flexible, robust fiber-glass mat with the looped heating element uniformly fixed on it. The heating element terminates to 3m length cold leads at both ends of the mat.
Heating Element: Thin 2.2mm self regulating single heating conductor with Teflon insulation, protected by a metal earth shield with a second insulation sheath.
Voltage: 240 Volt AC
Output Power: From 150 to 200W/m²
Control: Programmable room or floor sensing (or a combination of both) control
Safety: IEC60335 compliant and wired into an earthed power supply connected through a RCD circuit. Safe in wet areas.

Installation

Tile & Stone Installations
Installation of Thin Cable Mat is a simple process offering reduced installation time. After the subfloor has been prepared (cleaned and in some cases primed with a bonding agent), Thin Cable Mat is rolled out and stuck to the floor using the attached adhesive tape strips. The flooring can be immediately installed after the element fault monitor is connected to the cold tail leads.

Vinyl
Following the installation instructions as per tile and stone heating, Thin Cable Mat should be covered with a 5mm self-levelling screed. This will ensure the floor is smooth and level for the vinyl flooring. Once the screed has cured, flooring can be immediately installed after the element fault monitor is connected to the cold tail leads.

Timber
Following the installation instructions as per tile and stone heating, Thin Cable Mat can be installed directly under timber laminate floors.
