Hydronic Floor HeatingAmuheat' Speedit hydronic floor heating systems consists of water being pumped from a boiler to a pump pack, where it is mixed to approximately 50ºC then distributed via a manifold to heating circuits made using Speedfit Barrier Pipe. The PEX pipe is laid in concrete or suspended just below the surface of the floor. The Speedfit pipe has an inner barrier to prevent the ingress of atmosphere, and is lightweight and flexible making it especially suitable for hydronic floor heating installations. For screed systems, the pipe is attached directly to insulation with staples or floor clips. A rare benefit of hydronic floor heating not common to any other heating system is that a variety of heating equipment can be used to heat the water: natural gas water heater or boiler, electric boiler, wood boiler, heat pump, solar collector or even geothermal energy. This allows homeowners the option of choosing the type that best fits their needs - and more importantly, can be upgraded or changed at a later time. Hydronic floor heating systems can be designed and installed for both new homes and for renovations or extensions. There are many benefits to installing a radiant heating system, some of which include:
Control options range from manual floor probe sensor thermostats to smart heating control systems. Modern homes installed with hydronic floor heating and smart heating controls are based around a wiring centre which has connections for the boiler, pump and thermostats. This allows the homeowner direct control of the floor heating systems from touchpad controllers, direct control from a PC, remote control from a PC via the internet or remote control via a text message from a mobile phone.
