PEX Pipe - Hydronic Underfloor Heating For screed underfloor heating systems, the PEX Pipe is attached directly to insulation with staples, floor clips or mounting rails. Spreader Plates are available for timber flooring. Heat transfers from the hot water flowing through the circuits of pipe to the screed, which in turn radiates gently into the room. The Speedfit PEX Pipe is corrosion free, lead free, non toxic, flexible permitting cabling of pipe through less accessible areas and lightweight making it especially suitable for underfloor heating installations. The Speedfit Barrier Pipe is made up of 5 layers, the centre of which is a blue coloured oxygen barrier which prevents the ingress of air into the system, thereby reducing the effect of corrosion on metal components.
