Choosing the correct floor heating system

Which floor heating system do I choose?

New concrete floors (for all floor coverings above floor heating systems):

Cable Mat above the slab beneath a sand cement screed or embedded in the tile adhesive.

Slab Heat Cable
which is attached to the reinforcing mesh prior to the concrete pour.

Speedfit Hydronic floor heating, attached to the reinforcing mesh or clipped to the insulation above the slab.

For existing concrete floors, or timber floors overlaid with fibre cement sheeting or insulation boards:

Cable Mat
or Strip floor heating embedded in the tile adhesive.

Cable Mat above the slab beneath a sand cement screed (suits all floor coverings).

Speedfit Hydronic
floor heating clipped to the insulation above the slab.

For carpet floors, another option is the new laminate panel undercarpet floor heating systems. Available in a range of sizes to suit any room layout. The laminate panel is fitted between the carpet and underlay.
