Cable Mat & Strip Suitable Sub-Floors |
|
|
Suitable sub-floors for Cable Mat & Cable Strip Suitable sub-floors must be correctly designed, constructed and prepared in accordance with building regulations. These include: - Plywood or Cement Boards
- Smooth Concrete Slab
- Waterproof Membranes
- Acoustic Underlay
- Insulation Boards
- Ceramic Tile
- Sand Cement Screed
Our recommendation below is only intended to provide an outline guide to the floor preparation required:
- Concrete Slab - The concrete slab must be completely cured, clean, smooth and level. Concrete slabs should be insulated to avoid heat losses.
- Timber Subfloors - Suitable substrates such as Fibre Cement tile underlays should be used on timber floors to ensure the subfloor is rigid and free from movement.
- Insulation - It is generally accepted that floor heating will take the chill off the floor and provide some comfort warmth. Insulating concrete slabs will reduce heat losses downward into the slab. Rooms will also stay warmer for longer periods of time.
